(SJS) – St. John Knights high school girl’s varsity basketball team showcased the dynamic duo of freshmen Kali Benavente and Destiny Castro Tuesday night against the Simon Sanchez High School Sharks in the 2012 IIAAG League.
The Knights picked up a win 55-29 at the Sharks home court and now hold a team record 2-1. The Sharks hold a team record 2-1.
Castro scored 28 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and nine steals. Benavente chipped in 14 points, four rebounds, eight assists and three steals.
The Sharks’ Shaniah Aguon scored 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
In the JV game, the Sharks defeated the Knights 30-12. The Sharks standing is 3-0 while the Knights are now 0-3.
The Knights host St. Paul Warriors on Friday at their home court. JV game starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by the varsity game.
