The lights at the Leo Palace Resort continue to burn bright over the diamond as action in the Leo Palace Baseball League continues throughout the week.

Recently, the Agat Reds and Piti Pirates took on one another in a game that thrilled the crowd in attendance up until the final out.  When it was all said and done, the Pirates squeaked past the Reds after clinching the 6-5 victory in eight innings of play.

Heading into the seventh and final inning, the Pirates trailed the Reds and needed to produce some offense in order to prevent a loss.

After posting three unanswered runs backed by a huge two-RBI single with two outs by Donovan Santos, the Pirates managed to take a 5-4 lead.

However, Agat remained poised and answered back with a run to equalize the game after an RBI groundout by Jacob Castaneda pushed across teammate Jimmy Nededog.

Into extra innings the game would go with the Pirates playing small ball scoring the go ahead run on a perfect squeeze bunt by Jeremy Zimlich.

The Reds would get two runners aboard in the home half of the 8th inning but Pirates Brian Santos would close out the Reds to seal the 6-5 win for the Pirates.

The Reds jumped on the board early scoring two runs off Pirates starter Justin Bennett with singles from Dan Salas and Justin Castaneda a walk by Pat Sablan and a RBI-single from Miah Pecina.

Piti would take advantage of errors and push a run across in the third-inning to cut the Reds lead to 3-1.  Agat responded in the bottom half of the third with RBI singles from Roy Gamboa and Pat Sablan capping another two run rally to increase the Reds lead to 4-1.

With the victory, the Pirates improve their season-record to an even 3-3, while the Reds drop to 1-3.
