(GHC) – The Bud Light Golden Hoops Classic 2012 Fall Tournament hosted another exciting night of games Wednesday at Tamuning Gym.

In the 18-plus competitive division it was a come-from-behind win between the Tamuning Typhoons and Inarajan Hawks, 53-51.

The Hawks' Dominic Sablan and Javis Duenas kept the Typhoons at arm’s length with their offensive scoring throughout the game. But Typhoons' big men Pieerce Evangelista and Derrick Royster together with guards Tony Balajadia and Julian Canovas continued to chip away at the lead with points in the paint and perimeter.

In the second half, a double technical was called on Royster that sent him packing, giving the Hawks the advantage to drive to the basket for points and giving them a 51-47 lead with 48 seconds left in the game.

Not to be deterred, Typhoons' Andrew Borja, Balajadia and Canovas turned up the half-court trap defense causing the Hawks back-to-back turnovers, giving Canovas the open shot scoring on back-to-back jumpers to give them the lead 53-51 with eight seconds left in the game.

Sablan’s two missed free throws and a missed shot on a drive by teammate Christian Reyes to tie and take the win was not enough as time ran out giving the victory to the Typhoons.

The Typhoons’ Evangelista scored 15 points followed by Canovas with 14 points and Royster with 10 points. The Hawks’ Sablan scored a game-high 20 points and Duenas scored 16 points in the loss.
