(GFA) – The Chevrolet Robbie Webber Youth Soccer League continued in full swing Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center in Harmon.


A handful of closely contested matches were featured in the league’s top U-18A division. The Strykers edged the Samurai Heat 3-2, the ASC Islanders Betde slipped past the Sidekicks 3-2, and the Wings Black and the Southern Cobras 2 settled for a 2-2 draw. In the division’s opening game, Quality defeated the Wolverines 4-1.

In the U-18B division, the Wings shut out Quality Red 5-0, the Samurai Heat and the Sidekicks battled to a 1-1 draw, the Strykers edged the ASC Islanders Apaka 3-2, and ASC Islanders Asut settled for a 3-3 draw with Community First.

In the U-18 All Girls division, Quality Distributors snuck past the ASC Islanders Asut 4-3, the Doosan Crushers defeated the ASC Islanders Betde 4-2 and Mangilao Soccer Club blanked the Samurai Heat 2-0.

In the U-14A division, Quality edged the Strykers 2-1, and the Wings escaped with 3-2 win over the Sidekicks. The Wolverines beat the Samurai Heat 6-2, the Wings defeated the Crushers 4-1 and Quality blanked Tumon 5-0 in the U-14B division.

The Tigers emerged from the previous week’s draw and defeated Community First 4-2, the Sidekicks defeated the Wolverines 10-3, the Strykers shut out Crushers 1 4-0, and Quality Red blanked the ASC Islanders Betde 3-0 in the U-12A division.

The Sidekicks held out for a 1-0 win over the Wings, the Samurai Heat shut out the Strykers 3-0, Community First edged Tumon 2-1, the ASC Islanders Asut blanked Quality 4-0, the Wolverines defeated the Southern Cobras 4-2, and the Crushers 2 defeated Quality 5-2 in the last game of the day for the U-12B division.

Youth soccer league games continue Saturday with the same slightly modified field layout. The schedule will be available for download at www.guamfootball.com.

Coaches and parents are advised to review the schedule beforehand. Additionally, the use of sunscreen is recommended even if league matches this season are contested in shorter time and with less playing field space.
