IT ISN’T too often our island is graced with the presence of superstars from the sports world. However, when they do make an appearance, fans from all ages are filled with excitement and anticipation.

This past weekend, World Wrestling Entertainment’s Ted DiBiase Jr. made his way to Guam and held a meet-and-greet session at the Agana Shopping Center.

As part of his commitment to the National Guard, “The Priceless One” provided the hundreds of wrestling fans with the opportunity and chance for autographs and photos. With the event only lasting several hours, the excitement in many who waited in line could be seen.

“I’ve always been into wrestling and enjoy watching it since it was known as the WWF. To be able to meet any star is an exciting opportunity,” said John Blake, who is on-island for several days to visit friends. He added it’s also a great thing for kids. “What’s even better is seeing all the youngsters enjoying the chance not many get to have.”

Event coordinators and DiBiase were able to add a small Q&A session into the limited-time event. The son of “The Million Dollar Man,” Ted DiBiase, the younger, has won the WWE Tag Team Championship with partner Cody Rhodes in 2008. In addition, DiBiase Jr. grouped up with another superstar, Randy Orton, to form Team Legacy.

“I like to watch wrestling and I’m happy that I got the chance to meet him,” said 9-year-old Jason Cruz. “Hopefully, more stars come to Guam.”
