THE inaugural 2012 Guam Masters Games is rapidly approaching and will start in one week.

The baseball event for the Guam Masters Games is sure to be a hit as the 40-and-up men’s division has local teams registered to play with prospective teams from the CNMI and the Philippines.

Teams are looking to play well in this event to show their abilities and to have some fun on the field. These experienced athletes have a lot to bring to the field and will give fans great games to watch. Teams are still able to sign up.

Baseball director Justin Bennett is looking forward to watching the games and getting started. “I love to see great sportsmanship and competition at the games. It’s all about the game on the field and that’s what’s really exciting. The athletes can interact and enjoy the spotlight in their sports for a week,” he said.

GMG will host other sports

Aside from baseball, the Guam Masters Games will host other sports this September, each with various age divisions.

Golf, baseball, running and grappling competitions will take place at the Leo Palace Resort. Basketball will be played at the University of Guam Field House, and tennis matches will be held at the Hilton Hotel Tennis Courts.

The 2012 Guam Masters Games is the first event of its kind on Guam, giving athletes the opportunity to build their reputation and significantly challenge themselves as they compete against regional athletes.

The official website for the Guam Masters Games 2012 can be found here. This website provides information on registration, sports, venues, activities, schedules, and much more.

Athletes have one final week to register online or register at either Strike Zone locations in Hagåtña or Dededo. Checks can be made payable to Tropical Productions.
