(TP) – The inaugural 2012 Guam Masters Games is rapidly approaching, now just less than 30 days away.
The Guam Masters Games will host seven sports this September, each with various age divisions.
Golf, baseball, running and grappling competitions will take place at the Leo Palace Resort. Basketball will be played at the University of Guam Field House; tennis matches will be held at the Hilton Hotel Tennis Courts; and paddling races will take place at the Boat Basin.
As the 2012 Guam Masters Games is the first event of its kind on Guam, it gives athletes the opportunity to build their reputation and significantly challenge themselves as they compete against regional athletes.
Sure to be a hit
The baseball event for the Guam Masters Games is sure to be a hit as the 40-plus men’s division has local teams registered to play with prospective teams from the CNMI and the Philippines. Teams are looking to play well in this event to show their abilities and to have some fun on the field. These experienced athletes have a lot to bring to the field and will give fans great games to watch.
Baseball director Justin Bennett is looking forward to watching the games and getting started. “I love to see great sportsmanship and competition at the games. It’s all about the game on the field and that’s what’s really exciting. The athletes can interact and enjoy the spotlight in their sports for a week,” he said.
