YOUNG golfers from around the Asia-Pacific region will compete with Guam’s junior golfers in a prestigious international tournament this weekend, hosted by the Guam Junior Golf League.
The 4th Annual BMW Guam USA Junior Open, which will take place at Leo Palace Resort in Manenggon Hills, will bring youth golfers and their families from all over Asia to Guam.
“We are so excited to bring together the best youth golfers from all over our region of the world here to Guam,” said John Shen, president of Prestige Automobiles.
“This truly shows the caliber of junior golfers we have. Our group has dedicated a decade to fostering this support among our youth. So, naturally, we’re very proud that Guam is the tournament destination again this year,” he added.
The tournament is divided into age categories for both boys and girls ages 7 to 8, 9 to 10, 11 to 12, 13 to 14, and 15 to 18.
The Guam Junior Golf League is a not-for-profit organization supporting a highly-organized junior golf program on Guam since 1994.
The organization has helped many junior golfers compete in prestigious international tournaments. Several former members have achieved golf scholarships from reputable universities. One of them recently turned professional and now is competing in the PGA.
