THE Filipino Sports Association of Guam/Coldstone-Wendy's Basketball League has kicked off its playoff at the Astumbo Gym with an overtime game in the Master Division between Guam Med and Blessed Bakery.
It was a game of fun and excitement, especially when Rey Ilagas of Guam Med confidently released the ball from long range with eight seconds left in the second half, ending in a deadlock (60-60) and heading to overtime.
During the overtime, Maui Sapungan of Blessed Bakery made the first basket count for a two-point lead margin (62-60) which was countered within 12 seconds by Romy Elizaga of Guam Med to tie at 62-62.
The next deadlock (64-64) was never repeated as Guam Med outscored its opponent. With a minute and 32 seconds left in overtime, Guam Med was leading by eight points.
With 15 seconds left, Rey Brigino contributed a 3 to increase Guam Med’s lead by 13 points.
