PACIFIC X-treme Combat has grown in Guam over the last eight years, and is now clearly the number one mixed martial arts show in the Philippines as well.

On Friday, July 14, PXC31 packed the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, Philippines, featuring some of the best fighters from the U.S., Guam and the Philippines, headlined by the main event title fight between Guam’s Justin “The Shocker” Cruz and Philippine’s Crisanto “The Slugger” Pitpitunge.

More than 500,000 viewers tuned in to PXC31 live on AKTV, the sports channel of TV5, one of the country’s largest networks, airing free nationwide.

KUAM TV11 will be broadcasting this exciting event locally in Guam on July 31 at 8 p.m.

The main event featured two of the top 135-pound MMA fighters in the region: Justin Cruz, a Guam native, challenged Crisanto Pitpitunge from the Philippines for the PXC Bantamweight Championship Belt. Guam’s Trevin Jones also competed for the first time in the Philippines and looks to improve on his budding MMA career.

Guam viewers will also witness the best MMA talent in the Philippines. The event will also host the return of Fil-Am fighters Tristan Aranel and Alvin Cacdac, who have both competed in Strikeforce in the U.S. but now fight exclusively in Asia for PXC.

According to PXC CEO and promoter EJ Calvo: “PXC31 was our best show to date in terms of live attendance and television viewership. The fans in the Philippines are really starting to understand and appreciate good MMA. We are working on broadcasting PXC Guam events internationally as well.”
