THURSDAY night Latte Spring league action featured the Piti Pirates (1-2) and Team Haggan (1-1) squaring off against one another at the Okkodo High School Baseball field.

On the mound for Team Haggan was Brian Santos coming off an impressive 11 strikeout performance. The Pirates countered with southpaw Ray Aguon on the mound.

Team Haggan would score three runs in the top of the second inning with the help from three Pirate errors. Haggan continued to display some great offense as they would add four more runs in the fourth inning with singles by Ray Mantanona, Larry Fejeran, Josh Cruz and Mike Gumataotao pacing the offense. That was all Team Haggan's Brian Santos needed on the mound, keeping the Pirates' hitters off balance with nasty curves and popping fastballs. Santos held the Pirates to two hits in a span of five innings.

The Pirates would break through in the sixth inning with two runs off singles by Bob Miranda and Jay Cing and a double by Meril Certeza to help get the Pirates on the board. The Pirates would rally again in the seventh inning with hits by Jan Michael Cruz and Jaz Balajadia loading the bases. But Herb Hattig would strike out the last batter to give Team Haggan the 14-2 win.

Brian Santos (1-1) picked up the win for Team Haggan, with Tony Borja helping pace the offense going 1-for-3 with a run and two RBIs. Christian Mailloux and Vince Ibanez also hit back-to-back triples in the final inning to help clinch the victory for Team Haggan. Team Haggan improves to 1-1 on the season, while the Pirates drop to 1-2.
