(DPW) – The Department of Public Works has issued an alert that between 8 p.m. tonight and 5 a.m., southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane on Route 1 between Route 4 and Route 8 in Hagåtña.

The lane closures are necessary for the safety of construction personnel and motorists as the contractor facilitates the installation of a 40-foot bridge deck as part of the Agana Bridges Reconstruction Project.

One southbound lane will remain open at all times to maintain access.

Construction signs and personnel will be in place to direct traffic. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to obey all traffic signs.

Also, contractors will be working at the Agfayan Bridge located south of the Inarajan pier (facing Bear Rock).

Motorists should observe the posted speed limit and all construction signs and expect intermittent traffic delays during the day.
