GUAM Highway Patrol has released the name of the man who died after his moped crashed into another vehicle Tuesday night.

James Paul Aguero, 40, died before midnight at Guam Memorial Hospital, according to Nursing Supervisor Shirley Pinera.

Officer A.J. Balajadia, GPD spokesman, said the accident happened at around 9 p.m. along Route 1 by Jose Galo Street near the Yigo Pay-Less.

He said the moped driver and his female passenger were heading north on Marine Corps Drive when their moped collided with a southbound blue 2004 Toyota Camry that was attempting to make a left turn onto Jose Galo Street.

Responding GPD officers and emergency units immediately transported the man to Guam Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at around 11:30 p.m. Aguero is Guam’s 10th traffic-related fatality of the year.
