THE Guahan Project and the Department of Public Health and Social Services are offering free and confidential group sessions for the families of HIV/AIDS patients.

“In the supportive climate of a group, people can talk openly about the challenges of living with persons who suffer from HIV/AIDS, share achievement and success stories, and build a support network,” states an announcement from WestCare Pacific Islands, a nonprofit organization that facilitates the Guahan Project.

The next meeting of the “Positive Life Support Group” will be at the Dededo DPHSS facility on May 11 at 9 a.m., and will continue every other Saturday at the same time.

Sessions will also be held at the Guahan Project office in the Core Pacific Building Suite in Tamuning every other Tuesday at 6 p.m. The next session is on May 14.

The Guahan Project is funded by the Office of Minority Health; U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; Life Foundation Hawaii; and DPHSS.
