THE suspect accused of raping and stabbing a woman in her Sinajaña home is being held behind bars pending $1 million cash bail.
Giene Starks Noamoraen, 18, appeared for a magistrate’s hearing yesterday in Superior Court where he was charged with two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct, burglary, kidnapping, two counts of aggravated assault, and unsworn falsification.
Noamoraen allegedly entered the woman’s home on Oct. 28 and later attacked her when she returned home.
According to court documents, the victim saw Noamoraen standing in the hallway where he grabbed her with both hands, pulled her into her daughter’s room, and began punching her in the face.
“[Noamoraen] then took out a knife, held it to her throat, and told [the victim] not to look at his face,” court documents stated. He proceeded to allegedly sexually assault the victim after he dragged her out of the home.
It wasn’t until the victim’s boyfriend – who had been waiting outside the residence – exited his vehicle and walked toward the home that Noamoraen fled, court documents indicate. The victim then ran toward her boyfriend, bleeding and screaming.
Police noted the victim was bleeding profusely from her left hand and face. Victim was found to have puncture wounds on her left hand but could not remember how she got them, court documents state.
During the course of the investigation, the victim told police she recognized the voice of the attacker. Another tip that led to the arrest of the suspect is credited to the neighborhood watch program in the village, where a neighbor was able to provide a description of the suspect.
Police interviewed a neighbor who stated that around 2 a.m. Sunday, he stopped and talked to a person who was in a parked car. The neighbor described the suspect as “in his 20s, skinny, Yapese, kinky black hair, dark shorts, and a gray shirt,” court documents stated. At the time, the suspect told the neighbor he “just stopped to sober up” but then drove off.
When located and apprehended by police, Noamoraen initially told a story unrelated to the incident, court documents stated. He then ultimately admitted to the incident.
