AN INVESTIGATION is now ongoing into how a fire started at the former Younex Oceanview Emerald Showroom building in Tamuning last Tuesday night.
The fire was reported at around 6:16 p.m., prompting the building to be shut down and motorists rerouted to other roads as a safety precaution.
The building was in the process of being torn down because its lease had expired a few months ago.
Guam Fire Department spokesman Lt. Ed Artero said the building was gutted and the contents that were inside were brought out and piled up.
“It was just a debris fire. It wasn’t a structure fire,” he added.
