THE driver in a fatal car crash that claimed the life of a passenger is being held behind bars pending $20,000 cash bail, facing charges of vehicular homicide and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Majesty Kolden Relech, 20, was arrested last weekend, a week after the 1999 Ford Taurus she allegedly was driving on Oct. 20 crashed into a telephone pole along Route 3, Dededo.

The passenger, Narinta Lee, had to be extracted by medics and Guam Fire Department personnel using the jaws of life, Superior Court of Guam documents state. Lee was found not breathing and unresponsive. She was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.

Upon observation of the crash scene, police noted numerous Bud Light and Heineken beer cans in the front seat, court documents stated. After submitting to a blood draw, Relech’s blood alcohol content was determined to be .164.

Relech was charged Saturday in Superior Court with vehicular homicide; vehicular homicide while intoxicated; and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
