Certain Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size cereals may be unsafe to eat.
The Department of Public Health and Social Services has issued a recall in partnership with the US Food and Drug Administration on these items because they may contain fragments of flexible metal mesh from a faulty manufacturing part.
No local reports of illnesses or injury have so far been reported as a result of consuming the product. Nationwide, 2.8 million boxes have been recalled.
Consumers who have purchased any of the affected Kellogg’s cereal are urged to stop using the product immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
According to the DPHSS release, the Division of Environmental Health found affected products on shelves at the Pay-Less Supermarkets located at the Agana Shopping Center in Hagatna; Micronesia Mall in Dededo; Dededo; Mangilao; Sinajana; and Yigo. All affected cereals were removed from the shelves.
DPHSS is advising that all food distributors and retailers remove the affected products from sale or service. Consumers are encouraged to review the labels of their cereals to determine if it is affected by the recall.

The recall includes only those affected cereals with the letters KB, AP, or FK before or after the Best If Used Before date. DPHSS has released a list of possible effected products that are being recalled.
