Police have arrested a suspect who allegedly had been raping a seventh grade female since she was in sixth grade.
Suganthan Timothy Kathireson, 31, is being held pending $25,000 cash bail for the alleged rape of the 12-year-old girl. He was charged last Friday in the Superior Court with first degree criminal sexual conduct as a first degree felony.
According to court documents, police learned of Kathireson after meeting with the victim and several school officials last week Wednesday. The victim relayed that she had been sexually assaulted by a “male adult known to her,” court documents state.
When the victim detailed the alleged sexual assault, she relayed that she had told Kathireson to stop and he told her that “he will not bother her anymore and to not tell anybody,” court documents state.
The victim added that the incidents have been occurring since the victim was in the sixth grade. Police observed the victim to be “nervous, embarrassed and would cry at times during the interview,” court documents indicate.
