Guam Department of Education Superintendent Jon Fernandez is infusing Southern High School with a fresh, new leadership team starting this Monday.
The superintendent has tapped Rosalin Meeks to lead Southern as principal as part of a set of new assignments initiating new school management teams at several schools.
Raised in Agat, Meeks has spent the last six and a half years guiding the school community at the very successful J.P. Torres Alternative School. She has served as its principal since October 2005.
Joining Meeks on the new Southern leadership team will be assistant principals Geraldine Pablo of PC Lujan, Trisha San Miguel of Agueda Johnston Middle School, Gaylene Cruz of George Washington High School, and Raymond Mantanona of GDOE’s Curriculum and Instruction Division.
Fernandez said it’s a pivotal time for Southern, which is scheduled to undergo a full accreditation visit in the spring of 2013 and is undergoing major improvements to its facilities and infrastructure.
“I want to thank the current team for helping bring Southern High School to this point. It is now a good time to incorporate new energy and ideas to Southern during these challenging but exciting times,” Fernandez said in a news release.
