AN UNEXPLODED World War II-era grenade was found in Yigo yesterday morning.
Alyssa Benito, spokesperson for Guam Homeland Security/Office of Civil Defense, said that around 9:34 a.m., an officer from the Dededo Precinct notified them of a grenade that was found along Chalan Pali Ramon Lagu in Yigo.
The Navy’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Detachment Marianas was activated to the area. They arrived at around 11:08 a.m. and the scene was secured a few minutes later.
The ordnance was transported to Naval Magazine for disposal.
Residents, in the meantime, are advised to call 911 if they come across any ordnance.
