A 48-year-old woman was sentenced in District Court yesterday to five years imprisonment followed by four years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Tina Marie Silva pleaded guilty last year to one count of an indictment charging her with conspiracy to distribute more than 5 grams of meth.

According to court documents, Silva on March 2011 sent the drugs via Express Mail from California to Guam. The package was addressed to an individual named William Quenga but was intercepted by U.S. Postal Inspectors.

Silva later moved to Guam where she was arrested in June 2011 by Drug Enforcement Administration agents.

During the investigation, Silva told the agents she had packaged the methamphetamine in 24 plastic bags with 1 gram in each, her plea agreement stated.
