RESIDENTS can expect to receive their tax refunds and health insurance rebates by today or the next few days.

Yesterday, the Department of Administration mailed out $7.1 million in rebates and refunds.

According to the Governor’s Office, approximately $5 million in tax refunds from additional Section 30 revenue was mailed out to residents who filed tax returns on April 17 and part of April 18.

The remaining $2.1 million are the health insurance rebates.

Gov. Eddie Calvo in a statement underlined the importance of the release of the checks: “This money doesn’t belong to the government – it’s the people’s money. I thank Ms. Benita Manglona, the hardworking staff at DOA, the Department of Revenue and Taxation, and the Treasurer of Guam who made sure these checks got into the hands of their rightful owners as quickly as possible.”
