AS PART of the University of Guam’s year-long 60th anniversary celebration, a Green Energy Career Expo and Anniversary Showcase will be held at the Micronesia Mall this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
According to UOG, different businesses and organizations will have displays and information available about various career options in the field of renewable and alternative energy.
“We’ve invited students from the middle and high schools as well as our own UOG students to come and see the many green career options,” said Elvie Tyler, sustainability coordinator at UOG’s Center for Island Sustainability.
Tyler further stated that the “green industry is a trillion-dollar industry, so a ‘green collar’ career should definitely be a consideration for future job seekers.”
Aside from the career expo, UOG colleges and programs will also showcase the university’s rich history and current offerings. In addition, entertainment from UOG alumni, giveaways and raffle prizes will be featured at the event.
