A TENANT was found dead inside his unit at the Alupang Cove condominiums in Tamuning yesterday afternoon. Authorities ruled out foul play.
Alupang Cove manager Clayton Duvall identified the dead man as Paul Santos, “about 50 years old,” and an employee of GTA TeleGuam Holdings. He was believed to have died of a natural cause.
“He hasn’t been coming to work for more than a week so his co-workers called the cops. He wasn’t answering when they called him so the cops forced open the door.”
Duvall said Santos lived alone in condominium unit number 518 and had been a tenant for eight years.
Santos’ relatives waited outside the building as GPD's forensic unit retrieved the body. They declined to comment.
An Alupang Cove tenant, who requested not to be identified, said Santos might have been “dead for two weeks.”
“It smells like decay in the hallway,” the tenant said.
The building housekeeper, who requested anonymity, said she had not seen Santos "for quite a while."
“I knew him. He was a very quiet man. He would always say 'Good morning' whenever he saw me,” the housekeeper said. “I always saw him every morning, standing in front of the newspaper vending machine. He would just read the front page of the paper and then leave.”
A.J. Balajadia, spokesman for GPD, said the death “doesn’t appear suspicious.”
No further information was available as of press time.
