New menu items at Hotel Santa Fe

HOTEL Santa Fe in Tamuning offers a wide array of activities for its guests and the local community with close proximity to the shores of Hagåtña Bay/Alupang cove, spectacular sunsets, and especially great dining at its Bar and Grille.

Executive chef Richard Schaaf says his kitchen staff has conjured new items on the menu, such as a thick 30-ounce steak.

“It is the biggest steak on Guam,” he said. “This particular T-bone steak comes with [an] all-you-can-eat salad and dessert bar.”

The entrée is served with white rice and corn on the cob. There is also free flowing draft beer from Becks that comes with the meal.

The hotel also offers shrimp in the bucket (the shrimp is grilled and placed in the bucket on top of vegetables) as well as specialty sandwiches. Among them are the pulled pork sandwich and the marlin sandwich – all freshly made and locally bought.

“All our sandwiches come with french fries and homemade coleslaw and a pickle,” he added. The sandwiches are under $10 with the exception of a few items such as their lobster sandwiches.

“Our wings are unique because it’s the drum and the winglet combined and we sell it by the bucket and the platters,” he said. The chicken wings come in a variety of flavors from teriyaki to spicy.

Schaaf also said they’ve been providing the barbecue menu for about a year now and just recently unveiled their sandwich menu.  “The goal is to provide more variety and attract not just the tourists, [but] more importantly the local community,” he said.
