THE Department of Public Health and Social Services is reminding businesses that sanitary permits for 2011-2012 have expired on June 30.
Since then, businesses have been coming in to renew their sanitary permits for 2012 to 2013. The Division of Environmental Health has been working to contact businesses whose permits have expired to urge them to renew.
Understaffing is an obstacle as Environmental Health strives to regulate businesses and establishments. Currently there is only one health inspector.
A listing of establishments that have failed to respond to Environmental Health or renew their sanitary permits will receive a visit from the health inspector.
The sanitary permit renewal application may be obtained from the Division of Environmental Health, located on the 2nd floor of the Mangilao Public Health Building, or it may be downloaded here.
