EMPLOYEES of the Department of Public Health and Social Services were surprised to see trash strewn all over the place yesterday outside the Mangilao DPHSS facility and the northern public health facility in Dededo.
Trashco, the contractor who picks up the trash for public health, had concerns with regard to payment for its services and, instead of collecting the garbage, dumped it all over the ground then took the bins.
But DPHSS Director James Gillan said everything has been resolved.
“There was a problem with invoices and I guess invoices weren’t being processed. We managed to get that straightened out and the Department of Administration took care of that for us,” he said.
Gillan also spoke with the owner of Trashco, Morrico Equipment, and was assured the trash was being taken care of.
“We’re all nice and happy again,” he said.
