U.S. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. is on Guam to meet with leaders here and in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Holder’s visit is part of his ongoing efforts to visit districts served by the U.S. Attorney’s Office nationwide.
He is expected to participate in a joint conference organized by the District Court of Guam, District Court of the CNMI, the U.S. Attorney General Offices for Guam and the CNMI, and Guam Bar and CNMI Bar associations.
The conference gets underway at 9 a.m. today on the fourth floor of the District Court of Guam in Hagåtña.
Also attending the conference are representatives from the University of Guam, Guam Community College and Northern Marianas College.
Holder was nominated by President Barack Obama to the position on Dec. 1, 2008 and was sworn in on Feb. 3, 2009 as the 82nd U.S. Attorney General by Vice President Joe Biden.
