A MAN has been accused of violently abusing a woman whom he had only been in a relationship with for five weeks.
Horace Riley Westfall, 35, allegedly became violent with his girlfriend last month upon accusing her of cheating. According to Superior Court of Guam documents, at that time, Westfall “slapped the victim's mouth and head, grabbed her hair, dragged her head to his crotch area, and bumped her head on the steering wheel.”
A few days later, on June 28, the victim was driving a truck she borrowed from a relative so that Westfall would not recognize her. While driving along a street in Toto, Westfall appeared and yelled at the victim to stop the truck.
He then climbed into the truck bed and broke the back window of the truck, court documents stated. As the victim attempted to flee, Westfall allegedly hurt her by grabbing her wrist, causing pain. She attempted to use her phone to call police but Westfall took her phone and broke it, court documents added.
Meanwhile, the victim drove Westfall off to his own vehicle. Westfall allegedly chased the victim by running her off the road. It wasn't until she drove toward the Hagåtña Precinct that Westfall gave up the chase.
After making the report with police, the victim returned to a relative's home where she believed she was safe, court documents stated. As she was about to leave the house at a later time, she noticed Westfall sitting outside on his motorcycle. She then called police and returned to the Hagåtña Precinct.
Westfall was charged yesterday in Superior Court with stalking; criminal mischief; two counts of family violence; two counts of assault; and reckless conduct.
