(Chamber) – The Guam Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Guam Economic Development Authority and the University of Guam Pacific Center for Economic Initiatives, is pleased to announce that United Airlines will be signing the Buy Local commitment today, 11 a.m., at United’s headquarters in Tiyan.
The Buy Local commitment is a company's pledge to "Think Local, Support Local, Buy Local." Think local would ask companies to think about a local product, company, or organization before any other.
Support Local by contributing to major nonprofit organizations on-island, and Buy Local by shifting at least 10 percent of a company’s online or off-island purchase to local businesses whenever possible. This small shift to buy local positively impacts the economy.
“We are happy to have United Airlines join the Buy Local movement, as it shows their support and dedication to Guam’s community,” says Jay Rojas, chairman of the Chamber’s Ad Hoc Committee on Buy Local. “As one of the island’s largest companies, United’s commitment to buy local supports the growth of other local companies as well.”
For companies interested in signing the Buy Local commitment or interested in more information, contact the Chamber office at 472-6311/8001 or via email at info[at]guamchamber.com.gu.
