A 27-year-old Level III sex offender is being held on $500,000 cash bail after being arrested Tuesday for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl.
Brian Jay Tenorio, aka “BJ,” was charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping – both as first degree felonies – in the Superior Court of Guam yesterday.
Tenorio, who lived in the same Yoña neighborhood as the victim, allegedly grabbed the girl while she was playing in her yard and took her to his home. Court documents state the victim relayed that Tenorio “pulled her to his house, which is located next door to her house, and took her into his bedroom” where the alleged rape took place.
As the girl went missing, the mother went searching around the neighborhood and inquired with neighbors as to the whereabouts of her daughter. However, neighbors informed her they had not seen her child. It wasn’t until she came across Tenorio’s residence that she went knocking on his door.
Tenorio answered the door on a second attempt of the victim’s mother’s knocks. He allegedly told the mother he was just watching television with the child. Upon explaining the child’s whereabouts, the child darted out of Tenorio’s door and ran all the way home.
Court documents indicate the child told police that “BJ lied to mommy” by saying they were watching TV and instead allegedly raped her.
Although Tenorio denied all of the allegations, court documents stated, the victim was able to correctly describe Tenorio’s underwear.
Parole
Prior to the arrest, Tenorio was on parole after being released from prison in December 2011. He served six years for being convicted of first degree criminal sexual conduct as a first degree felony. The victim in his previous crime was a 7-year-old girl whom he sexually molested in 2005. Part of his parole conditions require that he not be around any minors without an adult present.
Tenorio is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 4 p.m., July 15 in Superior Court, court spokesperson Joshua Tenorio confirmed.
