GDOE may be violating sex offender rule

THE Guam Department of Education may be employing a registered sex offender.

A source told the Variety that Kenneth Andrew Palomo is currently employed as a clerk III with the Student Support Services Division. Before his present position, he was a truancy officer.

Palomo was convicted on July 2, 2002 of third degree criminal sexual conduct as a second degree felony and official misconduct.

A public law enacted in 2006 states that registered sex offenders shall not be employed with the government of Guam.

Advisement is being sought on the matter as well as what action could be taken against Palomo.
