Additional showings of movie this weekend at ASC
"SHIRO'S Head," written and produced by Kel and Don Muna, will be featured in two international film festivals."Shiro's Head" is among the entries to the 28th Annual Louis Vuitton Hawaii International Film Festival on Oct. 14 and 15; and the Philadelphia Asian-American Film Festival on Oct. 11.
Those who didn't get the chance to watch "Shiro's Head" during last weekend's screening can do so this weekend.
According to Shelly Gibson, director of Group Sales, Special Events, Marketing and Promotions for Tango Theaters, there was such a tremendous response to the movie, prompting the theater to host an encore showing.
"There were a lot of people who got turned away and who wanted to show their support to the Muna brothers," Gibson said, adding that the decision to have the extra showings was based on ticket sales.
"It was on Thursday or Friday when we noticed the tickets were sold out (and) when we asked the guys for more showing," Gibson said, noting that she was getting so many phone calls and emails about the movie.
"From my perspective, to see all those people, I was really impressed," she said. "We're happy for their success."
