(OFFICE of the Guam delegate)-- Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo on Wednesday met with pilot Tony Antonelli,
mission specialist Piers Sellers, mission specialist Steve Bowen, and International Space Station Flight Engineer T.J. Creamer in her office on Capitol Hill.
The astronauts recently completed the 34th space shuttle mission which lasted from May 14 to 26 to the International Space Station on board the Space Shuttle Atlantis.
Mission Specialist Sellers was selected along with Commander Willie McCool for the 1996 Astronaut class. In addition, he attended the dedication of the Commander William C. McCool Elementary/Middle School on Guam.
During the STS-132 mission, the astronauts delivered an Integrated Cargo Carrier and a Russian-built Mini Research Module to the International Space Station. The mission lasted 11 days and was the final planned launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis.
“Many continue to be inspired by the idea of space and the knowledge to be gained from its study,” Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo said.
“I appreciate the contributions that these astronauts have made to the fields of science and technology through their work and for continuing to inspire young adults and children to achieve,” she added.
