(GCA)-- The Guam Contractor’s Association and Sherman Consulting have teamed up to offer Guam’s business community two courses which teach strategies on how to contest OSHA citations and how to handle an OSHA audit.

The two courses, which will be held tomorrow at the Holiday Resort in Tumon, will be conducted by Dr. Adrian Estes who is an internationally recognized safety trainer.

Adrian A. Estes is retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers
and holds a PhD in safety management. Estes is the director of the International Board of Environmental Health and Safety Inc. which is the nationally approved accredited safety certification registry agency.

In addition to Estes, NAVFAC Marianas safety program manager Anthony Sholing will also be making a presentation covering NAVFAC’s onsite inspection protocols as well as NAVFAC’s citation procedures.

“Many companies do not realize that they can contest citations issued by OSHA, the process although tedious and time consuming can result in the company saving thousands of dollars in fines. The courses we are offering will provide participants a roadmap on how to successfully contest citations and deal with audits without an attorney,” said Phillip Mendiola-Long, president of Sherman Consulting.

Registration  fee is $195.  For more information on the training program please contact the Sherman Consulting Training Office at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

All contractors and businesses who deal with OSHA on a regular basis are encouraged to attend the OSHA training as it is the first time Guam has had the opportunity to take part in the training program.
