The Guam Police Department has now classified the investigation into the body of a man found yesterday afternoon in Yona as a homicide investigation, according to spokesman John Edwards.

Vincent Peredo was found bludgeoned to death with a piece of exercise equipment, particularly a weight bar, according to Variety sources and confirmed by the Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Aurelio Espinola.

Espinola conducted the autopsy yesterday afternoon, and only confirmed information given to Variety by other sources.

He said he could not give any other information because GPD is still conducting its investigation.

Espinola said he submitted specimens to the lab for a toxicology report he said would not be completed until Thursday at the earliest.

But he did say no drugs were found on the body or near the body.

The body of Peredo was found in a residence off As Andie Road.

GPD is asking anyone with information on this case to contact GPD.
